'Vogue' Editor Blamed for Hudson Fashion Disaster |
HOLLYWOOD - An editor of fashion magazine Vogue is being blamed for Jennifer Hudson's widely criticized ensemble on the Oscars red carpet on Sunday. Andre Leon Talley guided the new star through the awards season, helping style her for her major appearances after the success of Dreamgirls. Hudson wore a brown Oscar De La Renta gown for the Academy Awards ceremony and added a metallic gold bolero jacket to walk the red carpet. But the star was slammed for her appearance and admitted on the Today show that she would have selected a different outfit. A source tells PageSix.com, "Jennifer was kind of sponsored by Talley and Vogue. Andre insisted she wear that hideous Oscar De La Renta dress with the awful, awful gold python bolero. "Jennifer really didn't want to, and so (celebrity stylist) Jessica Paster got her a beautiful gold Roberto Cavalli (gown) custom-made. But when Andre found out, he went ballistic. "Moments before she left for the show, there was a power struggle and Jennifer ended up putting his outfit on." Although she didn't score on the red carpet, Hudson did take home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. |

Anna Nicole's Mother Finally Meets Baby Dannielynn |
HOLLYWOOD - Anna Nicole Smith's estranged mother has been granted a 50-minute visit with her granddaughter Dannielynn--the first time the retired police officer has met the baby. The supervised meeting took place last night at the Bahamas home where the five-month-old girl is being looked after by Smith's companion Howard K. Stern. The magical moments came 48 hours after Larry Birkhead, the photographer fighting for paternity of Dannielynn, held the baby for the first time. But Stern's decision to let Virgie Arthur, the mother his late girlfriend publicly hated, see her granddaughter merely suggests the three main parties fighting over the baby and Smith's remains are coming together. Hours before the meeting between grandmother and granddaughter took place, Stern issued a fierce attack on Arthur, who continues to hold up burial plans for her late daughter--because she insists on a funeral in Texas, not in Smith's adopted Nassau. In new court papers, in which he attacks Arthur's appeal on a ruling to bury Smith in the Bahamas, he states her decision to hold up funeral plans shows a "blatant disregard and dishonor of Anna Nicole's ultimate, final, personal wish." Stern and Arthur's attorneys will present their arguments before a Florida court this morning. Smith's corpse remains in a Broward County, Florida, medical examiner's office three weeks after the late model's death--awaiting a final decision on her final resting place. |

Hilton Commits Further Driving Offenses |
HOLLYWOOD - Paris Hilton was reportedly caught driving on a suspended license after she was stopped for speeding and driving without her headlights in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. The 26-year-old hotel heiress was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard in her blue Bentley Continental GTC at 11 p.m., according to Los Angeles police officer Duane Allen Jr.--but Hilton's spokesperson, Elliot Mintz, insists the star was not aware her driving permit had been suspended. She was given a ticket for driving on a suspended license but later released. Mintz says, "When she called me, she asked if her license was suspended. If that's the case, she and I are unaware of it." The socialite, who had just visited a video store after spending the day at home for a photo shoot, claimed she had neglected to turn on her headlights after driving out of a brightly lit car park. In January, Hilton pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving after being arrested in Hollywood in September. She was sentenced to 36 months' probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in related fines. |

No Ruling on Anna Nicole's Remains As Burial Plans Are Announced |
HOLLYWOOD - Anna Nicole Smith's corpse is to remain in a Florida morgue indefinitely after local authorities failed to come to a verdict on who should be awarded the body this morning. Three weeks after Smith died on her way to a Hollywood, Florida, hospital, the former model still doesn't have a final resting place confirmed following the brief court hearing. A Florida appeals court agreed to consider an appeal to overturn last Thursday's ruling to grant custody of Anna Nicole's body to her baby daughter Dannielynn through the child's court-appointed guardian, Richard Milstein. The appeal was brought by Anna Nicole's estranged mother Virgie Arthur, who wanted custody of the body, so she could bury her daughter in her native Texas. Smith's companion Howard K. Stern, her ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead and Milstein all agreed the body should be buried next to Smith's son Daniel in Nassau, Bahamas--Anna Nicole's adopted home. All parties presented their arguments this morning before the Florida 4th District Court of Appeals. The judges involved in the appeal then ended the hearing refusing to reveal when they would rule. But the panel implied that Anna Nicole's wishes to be buried in the Bahamas were a major factor in deciding the case. If the appeal is denied, Smith's funeral has been set for Friday morning in the Bahamas. |

Anna Nicole Burial Set for Friday After Mother Loses Appeal |
HOLLYWOOD - Anna Nicole Smith will be buried next to her son Daniel in the Bahamas on Friday morning after a Florida court rejected an appeal by the late star's estranged mother. Virgie Arthur challenged a ruling to bury Smith in Nassau, and her appeal was heard yesterday morning. But judges involved in the case at Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeals overruled Arthur's bid for custody of her daughter's remains late yesterday, re-awarding the corpse to attorney Richard Milstein, the legally appointed guardian to Anna Nicole's baby daughter Dannielynn. Milstein, Smith's companion Howard K. Stern and her ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead had already agreed to bury the late model on the Bahamas, her adopted home. The funeral will now take place, as planned, on Friday morning. Smith's remains, which have been embalmed in Florida--where she died three weeks ago--will be transported to Nassau for the burial. Arthur challenged the Bahamian burial plans because she wanted to take her daughter's body back to her native Texas and bury her there. In making their decision, the Florida judges, Barry Stone, Mark Polen and George Shahood, told Arthur that her daughter's wishes to be buried in the Bahamas were a major factor. |

HOLLYWOOD - Justin Timberlake and Pink are among the stars who have secretly been reaching out to show their support to Britney Spears as the pop singer battles substance abuse in rehab. Friends claim Timberlake left a personal message for his ex-girlfriend after calling the Promises treatment center in Malibu, California, last week. A pal tells Life & Style magazine, "He wished her the best and told her to get healthy and come back as the Britney he knew."
